Shoulder Pain

Adhesive Capsulitis (Frozen Shoulder)

When the shoulder has a lack of range of motion due to inflammation within the joint capsule.  Joint capsule of the shoulder has ligaments that hold the shoulder bones together, when the capsule becomes inflamed the bones are unable to move freely in the joint.

Rotator Cuff Syndrome

The Rotator Cuff is a group of four muscles and their tendons that work as a unit to hold the shoulder structures together and allowing individuals to move the arms freely.  Trauma and repetitive motions can lead to injuries of the rotator cuff resulting in lack of range of motion.

Bursitis

A bursa is a fluid filled sac located between muscle/tendon and bone that serves to lubricate and decrease friction.  When irritated it becomes inflamed causing pain with movement.

Tendinitis

The tendon is a thick fibrous cord connecting muscle to bone.  When irritated it becomes inflamed causing pain just outside the joint.
